Boys all in Cairo.
@ Tuesday, Apr. 04, 2006 - 04:47:08 pmWell another day at the office. It's 5.40pm and still no doctors have been although I did have a visit from Laura from the DMU(Derek Mitchell Unit) which is the transplant ward and from Maggie who's from a hospital in Eastbourne and is coming to observe my TBI next week.
I got a short half hour release from Paco today as the new chemo hadn't arrived so I sneaked off outside and up to the garden centre where Russ was parked. Felt good to get some fresh air even if it was cold. They've upped the dose on my chemo for the final week and disappointingly they won't be letting me out on Friday as I had thought but I will repeat last weekends early start and have an injection at 7am and then get away then.
So that has scuppererd any plans to get away or out of London for the weekend although I think we will go to a nice hotel for the night, dinner, champagne, breakfast in bed etc the trouble is choosing the right place.
I will have to come back to check-in at Kings on Sunday afternoon and then transfer up to Guys after that. At least I won't be lugging Paco around for a few days but I bet by the end of next week I get somebody equally gorgeous to bind me.
Ross and George set off today,in fact about now. That has caused me more angst than anything else today.Worrying about them doing their first international trip alone.
Wish we could all have gone, spoke to Elliott and he was at the house and felt so sad to think all my stuff there and that I would never be there again. In our house. Heart wrenching. What will it be like for the boys when they are all there by themselves, weird I expect. Still they are going to have a great trip, George is going out to the desert with friends and Ross and Elliott will catch up with school friends and hang out on Road 9 I expect.
Right I'm signing off now,
Russ is at home cooking me some tea, 2 days on the trot to the airport I expect he's exhausted.
Love to you all

I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner here I am in Aboyne complaining of the snow , when I could have headed with the boys and the girls and been "their" Mary Poppins or Mrs Doubtfire.... for the week....who am I kidding your young men will miss YOU and wish YOU were there but they will be fine and it will be good for them to be back in Cairo .
So enjoy your night with Russ where ever you both decide to go , I'm sure it will be very special
You may never be in your house in Cairo my dear friend ,but it's a house and when any house is touched by your warmth and happiness you make it a home x

Cold today Mo. I had to break the ice on the sheeps water- and those tups really went for me with the food again. Chickens weren't impressed with the frost either. Still, the repaired kiln has reached temp 5 mins ago so its hot in the workshop. School still on till the end of the week and then off to Pembrokeshire to surf for the w/e- winter wetsuits I think!! Everyone sends loads of love -Ken xx

Here I go -one small step for technology -one huge leap for my advancing computer skills. Girls and I just back from a mini break in Barcelona - made me feel young and old all at the same time! Angharad managed to attract a group of boys within 15 mins of landing and with a cool response they resorted to that age old winner of a moon from the train window - yes boys that really is going to get you far!!! Barcelona was a great place to visit though - lots to see and do - will show you the pictures - no not of the moon!!!. Calling Russ later to see if Angharad and I can pop in to see you tomorrow or Friday before she is off on the high seas - good to know the British Navy is in the capable hands of the Bristol student navy reserves over the Easter weekend!
By the way -I'm with the others on this 20% view - that was my constant French average at school but I still managed to scrape the O'level in the end.
Lots of love

Welcome to the Blog Pack!!!!
Would love to see you either tomorrow or Friday although tomorrow is ward rounds and I can never tell when they are going to be so maybe Friday better.
Barcelona sounds great - somewhere I've always wanted to go and missed out in Sep last year when Russ went, maybe next year - you'll have to tell me all about it.
Give Russ a call,
Love M

The Cairo "hoose" was without a doubt special, I had planned many more winter breaks there you know!!! I have however no doubt whatsoever that you will unearth even better before you and Russ finally retire with fat BP pension to the Seychelles.

carry back again this is getting to be quite easy getting on to the computer now it is snowing today and looks very miserable outside it is the sort of snow you don't often see in cairo sort of wet and slushy. sent you a small yellow plasticcy sort of bloke to play with, he went through the post so obviously not too big. love and kisses, love and kisses, love and kisses, love and kisses carry.
I do apologise my punctuation and grammar leave a lot to be desired. It will get better, I'm sure, with practice. love and kisses carry.
