Day +13 - No suction necessary for this icy slurper....

by moira603 @ Tuesday, May. 02, 2006 - 05:54:36 pm

Last night at 2.37am I put some ice cold water in my mouth. What a plan, what a joy, what a feeling.

No swallowing as yet, but my mouth didn't scream or splutter. I had the suction all ready in case of lots of fast dribbling occured (just so I can play at being nurses really).

Hoorah the plan worked and it felt great.

Infact - I'm going to do it again!

Bye
M x

REMINDER IN CASE YOU MISSED IT ON THE LAST POST...

For close friends and family (sorry, because nos. are limited on the call) - Rosy has set up a 'Happy Birthday' CONFERENCE CALL for Mo at the same time as the VIRTUAL HUG!

The plan: (with thanks to Jane/Rosy for setting up)

CALL IN JUST BEFORE 10 TO GET BRIEFING ON ORDER OF GREETINGS
Russ to dial-in with Mo at 10am UK
All sing Happy Birthday - 10am
Each person on the call gives a v v short birthday message
All say goodbye - 10:15 ish

We shouldn't expect Mo to do a lot of or indeed any talking...and need to keep it short and sweet!
Dial in details are as follows...

International dial in Number:
+44 (0)1452 584028
UK LocalCall Dial-In Number: 08451462024

Hi Moira,
been out of town lately...got caught up in Dahab along with the bombs but as you know we were safely tucked up in the Hilton so we fortunately came out of it unscathed! Dahab is really beautiful bloggers, if you ever get a chance it is well worth it....it has been bombed now, it won't (shouldn't) strike the same place twice!!!!

Jessie (3.5yrs old)learnt to swim (with a snorkel and mask...very cute)whilst she was joining us snorkelling in the Red Sea at a National Park in the Sinai....fab coral and fishes...unbelievable colour and quantity/variety of fish.

Enough about me, you are doing wonderfully Mo....feel I can call you that now since everyone else does....not just Russ. I am so impressed with your "staying in there power" and just riding the pain crest....well done!!!! I'm meeting Sheila and Sandy tomorrow so we shall all give you a virtual hug from Cairo...Happy Birthday!!!!(only 2.5hrs to go). You're doing brilliantly and tomorrow should be a big milestone for you, I know everyone in Blog land is absolutley thrilled at your progress, can't wait to give you a big hug myself!

Love Lisa (and Angus and the girls).

HAPPY BIRTDAY MO!!!

Fab to see you yesterday evening...despite my London transport horrors (no more waxing lyrical about the SE train service or cheery London cabbies, no way Jose - Russ said 10 mins from London Bridge to Denmark Hill...my a***e...more like 110mins)...But well worth it..great comfort for me to see what good care they're giving you...lots of drugs and drips...hopefully reducing in days to come...and a nice cosy room soon to decorated with a zillion birthday cards...

Good to share a bottle (or 2) with Russ, his mum and Sharon...but starting to regret it now after a v early start to get back to the office (whoopee)...

We'll save the champagne for when you can really appreciate it, and not just be embassassed by you slurping ice cubes out of the bucket!

Monster love and birthday swallows,
Rxxx

Happy Birthday Moira, I'll light loads of alabaster for you this evening!! Maybe you should have some cab sav icecubes for a special treat!! Just keep on sucking babe! Got back from spain and greece on Sunday. I was in Spain for my Mum's wedding, it was suprisingly very emotional for lots of reasons, but we had a lovely, lovely time. They are in Goa for honeymoon now, its so sweet. I'll be starting my big birthday head hug in 10 minutes (12 Cairo time), so I'll go and prepare myself. Alfred, Micheal brother had the computer to sort out some viruses and I couldn't get any new bloggs up after that. Any way I've sussed that I can't always go in via the favorites page...slow learning curve!! lots and lots of hugs. Sandy

Unfortunately my lecture on morphine (which I'm sure you know more about than I can be taught) ran late so I missed the virtual hug but here's it now *big hug*. You're doing so well and your determination is inspiring.

Happy Birthday Moira - we were in Moon Beach 2 weeks ago mainly on your and Russell's reccomendation and loved it. Got talking to Lisa and Angus and our thoughts went to you. We hope the recovery continues well and we can share a beer at the beach bar one day soon. Should be about the time BP lifts the travel restriction to Sinai.

Dearest Mo

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! from all 4 of us!

I was thinking of you and joining in the virtual Birthday hug at 10 a.m. in the middle of a literacy lesson with a class of 30 6 year olds. With so much young energy around me I hoped some of that would zip along the wires to you too.
So looking forward to seeing you soon. Have a great day.
We will raise our glasses to you this evening ( Mike and I that is - not the 30 6 year olds - although sometimes I do wonder about them!!)

Love as always
Mike Sarah Angharad and Tegan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
