Day +34..........the Other Side

by moira603 @ Tuesday, May. 23, 2006 - 11:00:35 pm

Dear All,

This is just a short note to let you know I am ok. I have been through lots, but seem to be coming out the other side.

At the moment I have very little energy for writing or blogging – sometimes I can’t even lift myself off the bed.

Every day I will get stronger and then I can begin to reveal some of what I have been through.

Needless to say I couldn’t have got here without my family – so special thanks to them for the last 2 weeks which have been intense.

Love,
Mx

Hi Moira,
Lovely to see that you're actually able to post something even if it is short - just to know you're getting better and stronger every day is wonderful. Looking forward to further reports when you feel strong enough to write them.

Hi Moira,

Q: How do you eat an elephant?

A: One bite at a time!

This is the same as your road back to agas and smelly socks - just one step at a time.........you have been thru soooooo much and I know what a supreme effort you and your family have made to get you thru the really toughest days .........but you did it and now you need to focus on the small triumphs each day brings and be patient!!!

Can't tell you how fab it is to read your blog - thats a big smiley face ALL day no matter what!

Hi Moira,

Welcome back to blog land. Great to have you back I missed your blogs. Now for the nag - carry on resting up you will get stronger every day. I know everyone has said this and I must have said it before but you are amazing.

Does anyone else have problems sending blogs? I need a support group or something. Sometimes it takes 20 different authorisation codes before my comment goes to you. I tried this morning but with no luck, so here goes again.

May the force be with you. Lots of love JustXXXXXX

Russ here Justine,

The best way to avoid having to put in the 'authorisation code' is to create your own blog site, so that each time you comment when logged on, you are automatically recognised and so no authorisation code is required, i.e. you are no longer classed as a 'visitor'.

Very easy to set one up, just fllow the instructions at www.blog.co.uk

Hope this helps.

Love Russell

i hope you feel better. Looking forward to seeing you soon. We're not at school today so we're at home playing games and annoying mummy. I am trying to whine and whine so she will take us swimming but she still says no. We're going to France for the holidays soon. I am playing Manacala with Toby and he is so good at it he's won nearly every time. Isobel is reading as always. Daddys at work, he's started running and riding to work and he did the marathon. I hope we can see you soon. love from Ellie x

Moira, been checking this blog frequently, so am now so-ooo pleased to hear you're feeling just that bit better. "Feeling better" is all relative these days of course, but you're on the right track. Keep resting and improving !
I've just come back from the chemo ward at ARI after my 5th dose, yup, sorry, it seemed so trivial in the light of all you're facing. At least we've got the same hairstyle! Do you favour the pirate or the gypsy look when you tie your scarf?
Love, thoughts and cyber-hugs,

Dear Ailsa,

I am sending you all the positive energy you need for your way to normal. All things in life are relative, a 5th chemo is a big thing in the universe and I wish you all the best. Just dig deep into yourself and you will find stuff there that has been waiting to be dug out. Lots of love and good energy going your way, Mira in Cairo

Taken a break from the ironing to find out how you are doing and phew....a fresh blog on screen... and suddenly a ray of bright sunshine has burst onto my keyboard through the clouds that have been leaking incessantly for the last week and making the trees droop with the weight.... it hasn't stopped the house martins nesting again and pooping on the windowsills though.... such is Dowally in May!
All of us wishing of all you loads of love, and step by step improvement.....

Hi Moira. Yep it is me - I am still on the planet! Mark & I are at home - at the same time, boys are at school, (Clare asleep in bed - back from Uni - the first lie for weeks she says!) - so some precious free time and no competition for the internet thus Mark has shown me how to work this blogging. Clare and Mark have been providing me with 'news feeds' up until now.

I can only imagine how hard this must all be. There isn't a day goes by that I don't think of you and say a wee prayer (you never know...) - Just want to give you and your boys a big hug.

Mark and I are about to head and bag a Munro up by Loch Tay picking Sean up on the way as he has his last exam this morning - so that will be him finished school - another milestone.

So hang on in there - this is beatable - and anyway you guys owe us a visit.

XXXXX00000 Aine, (Mark, Clare, Sean, Eamon & Brodie)
